LH DEFENDS TITLE IN THE NSPC

LORMA HIGHLIGHTS maintained their tittle and was proclaimed once again as the BEST BROADSHEET in the 10th Gawad Ernesto Rodriguez Jr, the annual contest held by the College Editors Guild of the Philippines during the 69th National Student Press Convention on May 19, 2009 at Kanlurang Mayao, Lucena City.

This was the second time that LH received a major award after winning in the 8th Gawad ERJ last May 26, 2008 in the same category.

“After the professionalism and craft embedded on the publications of the other universities and colleges out there, our win is very unexpected. May himala nga talaga,” said Arvelyn Gacayan, LH’s photojournalist.

Gawad ERJ is a part of CEGP’s objective to raise standard campus journalism and develop consciousness and patriotic student writers. In addition, this aims to give recognition to the outstanding quality of college publications.

Criteria for judging takes into the account a large part of the technical excellence and content of each articles which made LH broadsheet be on top of other publications.

Ang Pagdating ng Broadsheet at mga kaganapan sa Vigan

Yehey! December na! paskong pasko na nga. Nagkalat na ang ibat ibang palamuting pang-krismas saan ka man tumingin(maliban nalang sa bulag..joke.). Kasagsagan na rin ng madugong prelims exam. Busy busy na talaga ang lahat. Lahat ay nagrereview o agin-agin rereview para sa mga maka-nosebleed na exams(karamihan). Marami pa rin ang nag-iisip kung “its better to give than to receive”, mapa exams man yan o mapa Pasko. (Hindi talaga ito kasali sa updates. Gawa-gawa lang ang mga ito).

Bakit walang updates?

Bakit nga ba? halos mag-iisang buwan na rin mula ng may bagong post dito sa site, kung post nga iyon na maituturing. Natapos na ang enrollment(obyus naman) at nagsimula na din ang mga klase(obyus na obyus). Tapos na din ang Lunduyan, na ginanap sa Damortis, Rosario kung saan nagtipon-tipon ang daang mga student journalistmula sa ibat-ibang panig ng Pilipinas(Luzonwide) para sa taunang journalism skills training at seminar.

Balik na ulit sa mga dating gawain, pag-aasikaso sa susunod na isyu na ilalabas, ang broadsheet. Ilang linggo(o buwan) na din itong delayed sa target na pagkakarelease nito. Gayunpaman, sanay magkaroon ng himala at pirmahan na nila ang printing request ng maipaprint na din ito at mairelease sa mga susunod na linggo. Sana. Sana nga.
